HOMETECH

The pandemic has seen certain technology and online services become an essential part of life – from ordering food from supermarkets, through to face-timing loved ones in isolation.

Carolyn Atkinson, HR & Volunteer Co-ordinator, brought together a small team of volunteers to help develop HomeTech. The team includes long-standing members of the Cathedral community including Stephen and Pamela Porter, Annabelle Hancock, Carolyn Codner, John Harding and new volunteer Ken Sim.

HomeTech sessions commence from January 2022. These free sessions aim to help you with:

  • Getting the most of your mobile phone;
  • Understanding online safely;
  • Accessing essential services;
  • Messaging, email and video calls;
  • Safe online shopping, booking Cathedral and event tickets;
  • Online banking.

There will be time at each workshop to bring along any portable technology you have, and receive direct advice on how to best use it.  If you have not got any tech, we will have some available for you to try.

This project has been generously supported by the AllChurches Trust.
