Advent and Christmas

‘The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it’

Please note that seating for most services and events will not be socially distanced. Face coverings should be worn throughout all events, and we ask that attendees remain mindful of each other's personal space.

ADVENT CONCERTS
Saturday 4 December at 7.30pm - J. S. Bach: Magnificat and Wachet auf
Saturday 18 December at 7.15pm - Handel: Messiah

After sold-out performances in 2018 and 2019, NMH are delighted to return to Chichester Cathedral for two beautifully intimate Advent concerts.

Just fourteen professional singers from the finest choirs in the country (including the Royal College of Music, Garsington Opera and Westminster, St Paul's, Winchester and Chichester Cathedrals) will perform J. S. Bach’s majestic Magnificat and Wachet auf - much-loved for the tune “Zion hears the watchmen’s voices” (4 December) - and Handel’s iconic Messiah (18 December).

Performed by the outstanding Chichester vocal ensemble NMH and period instrumentalists three parts vied, these concerts are sure to be the highlights of the festive season.

Proceeds to support the work and ministry of the Cathedral.
